About the Zone

Sitabani is distinct from the standard Corbett Tiger Reserve tourism-zone system. It is described as a forest area outside Corbett Tiger Reserve, with entry points including Teda and Pawalgarh, and is known for jungle safaris and birdwatching. The area is also associated with the Sitabani temple and Ramayana tradition. Booking and permits are handled through the relevant forest authority rather than being treated identically to CTR safari permits.

Wildlife & Birdlife

  • Birdwatching is a primary highlight
  • Forest habitats support a wide range of birds, deer and other wildlife
  • Streams, forest trails and cultural sites add variety beyond a conventional tiger safari

Landscape & Safari Experience

Forest trails, streams and cultural sites (including the Sitabani temple) alongside rich birding habitat, distinct in character from the CTR core tourism zones.

Best Time / Seasonal Information

Generally accessible year-round, subject to local forest authority rules, weather and current orders.

Safari & Permit Information

Sitabani is managed separately from Corbett Tiger Reserve tourism zones - a standard CTR permit should not be assumed to cover it. Confirm the current permit authority and entry point before travel.

Who Should Choose This Zone?

Bird watchers and travellers wanting a quieter, forest-and-culture nature experience distinct from a conventional tiger safari.

Important Visitor Note

Safari routes, entry gates, operating dates, permits, fees and access rules can change due to forest department orders, weather, road conditions or seasonal closure. Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed.
