About the Zone
Enter through Dhangari Gate and travel through dense Sal forest, open grasslands and river channels toward the Dhikala tourism complex. The area is particularly associated with the famous Dhikala Chaur, where large herds of elephants and spotted deer can be seen. The Dhikala Forest Rest House dates to 1890 and overlooks the Ramganga River with the Kanda ridge in the background. Dhikala also has historical importance in Project Tiger, whose launch took place here in 1973.
